Anyways the point of this post is to tell you about the Belly Bandit. I'm not being paid to review this product (I wish!) but I had to tell you all about it because holy shit you guys this thing is da BOMB!!!
This fancy picture of me is 2.5 weeks post baby. I decided to be brave and show you what my belly looks like under this thing (cropping my head off of course). The lines and stuff you see are just from wearing the Belly Bandit. Two and a half weeks I've been wearing this thing non-stop, day and night. The only time I take it off is for a shower. They say for it to be effective you need to wear it for 6-8 weeks.
I will say that it's not the most comfortable. It's not bad and definitely more comfortable than being super pregnant. You get use to it. It wrinkles around your waist. I don't know about you but I'm not straight up and down. It's tricky to get it on so that it doesn't ride up and stuff but you figure it out. I am able to get my pre-pregnancy jeans on. I can button them even!! I wouldn't wear them yet though because ACK MUFFIN TOP! My kettlebell class will take care of that though. I can, however, comfortably wear my big girl jeans.
When I first got it, I went to a boutique near my house that sold them. I had EZ about 48 hours before. It's important to start wearing it shortly after having your baby. Sorry peeps, it only works for new mamas.
They measured me around and subtracted 5 inches from that number. That's how you determine what size you need. When she told me I needed an XS I actually laughed out loud and said no way. Even when I got home and I had to lay on the floor and have J help me get it closed, I still thought the chick was nuts for selling me a freakin XS! A couple of days later I was able to get it on with no help. They give you like 6 inches of velcro so you can make it tighter as you get smaller. I now have it closed completely.
It says you can measure yourself at 8 months cause that's what you'll be once you've given birth but I wasn't at all the same size... and I knew from when I was pregnant with Ava I wouldn't be. So I waited until I had EZ and then got measured for the right size. I didn't want to have to buy another one because I got too big of a size in the first place. These things aren't cheap. They start at $45. I bought an original one. You can also buy them on Amazon.
They have a bunch of others that I can't really comment on because I'm too poor to buy more than one. Since I wear it under my clothes I didn't see the reason to buy the super pretty ones (aka more expensive Kourtney Kardashian one). Mine is just nude color and basic.
I am astonished how much it's reduced my belly in such a short amount of time. It's like it holds it all together for you so your stomach muscles can get strong again and eventually be able to do it on their own.
If you are vain like me and want to whittle away at the post baby waist, check out the Belly Bandit website here.
