I am 100% poo free for the rest of my life. When I mention that don't use shampoo or conditioner anymore people give me the "who farted" look. Contrary to what you might think, my hair doesn't stink, in fact, it doesn't really smell like anything. It's clean, soft, bouncy, full and FABULOUS (said in an eccentric way).
I think I should tell you exactly what I do to make this work. I still don't wash my hair everyday. I go every other, sometimes every three days. I eyeball a tablespoon of baking soda in an applicator bottle that looks something like this.
I put the baking soda in this and then fill it with water. Put my finger over the end and shake it like a Polaroid picture. When it comes time to "wash" I get my hair wet in the shower like normal and then squirt the mixture all over my hair, focusing on my scalp. Then I sort massage it in. It feels kinda weird because it really just feels like water, there's no sudsing action. Then I get to the rest of my shower routine and rinse my hair out before I get out of the shower. That's all folks.
You can also use apple cider vinegar as a "conditioner/rinse" but I have yet to do this, my hair so far doesn't seem to need it but I probably should give it a go because it helps balance the pH. The standard recipe is also one tablespoon apple cider vinegar to one cup water.
