Smoopies

I realized last night, that I haven't talked about my kids for awhile. They're still around and mooching off J and I. EZ is quite the chatty cathy, which is awesome and annoying all at the same time. I mean, he has a lot to contend with, his sister and mommy are powerhouse chatty cathies. Poor J.

However, it's pretty awesome to see a child start to talk. I mean, I birthed him less than 2 years ago and now he walks, feeds himself and speaks toddler Chinese that only his parents understand. Still. He talks and it's amazing. He's so friggin smart (aren't all kids, though), the other day he brought me mustard from the fridge. He opens the fridge all the time and takes stuff out for no apparent reason.

I said, no no Ethan... then, got up to put the mustard back. He stood there with his cup, pointed to the milk IN THE FRIDGE and said moooore mumble mumble something that kinda sounded like milk. My jaw hit the floor. He knew I would put the mustard back and that's how he got me to get my lazy ass off the couch to get him milk. BRILLIANT!! He even goes to the fridge and get his own milk cup out... AND put it back when he's done. Who's child is this?

Ava is so smart but in a different way. She's incredibly stubborn and refuses to work on her letters, numbers, sounding things out with me but when she's watching TV, playing with the iPad or just playing with her dolls... guess who can sound things out just fine and recognize all her numbers and letters. Please child. You ain't fooling nobody. I have a sneaking suspicion that you are going to be a tough cookie when it comes to homework.

We are in the throws of toddler tantrums and preschooler woes. They are true siblings that fight tooth and nail for a piece of trash that no one cared about 10 seconds before. MOOOM, ETHAN HIT MEEEE!!! or WAAAAAAAAAA (EZ's version of the previous sentence).

So yeah, there are other things going on in my house other than my Pinterest concoctions and the whole-house organizational feat. It's just a whole lot of snotty noses, squeals of joy, high-pitched voices, Bubble Guppies and two-left-feet children that make my world go around. And now we have snow. YAY!

No really. YAY! I love snow! This also means we can go sledding this weekend! I WILL go because I WON'T be sick OR hobbling around on a bummed foot. Besides... have you ever seen a kid's face when they are going down a hill on a sled? Yeah. That's why I'm going to be out there with my kids this weekend.
